Individual Counseling

In this space, it’s all about taking care of you! In our first appointment, we will talk about what’s bringing you in and collaborate to come up with goals to focus on so that you can start living the life you want to live. This looks different for everyone. Some people need support learning new ways to cope with life’s ups and downs. Some people need help navigating challenges in relationships and learning how to build stronger, healthier relationships. Some people need a safe, validating space to work through the pain of their past so that they can make sense of their experiences and move forward in life. Whatever your “why", this is where we figure out how to make it happen.

Online Counseling

Online sessions are a great way to connect and in a way that works for your busy schedule. You can get the support you need from the comfort of your own space. If you’re unfamiliar with online counseling, it’s pretty similar to coming in for an in-person session—just without the traffic or rushing around to make it on time. I offer online counseling services through a confidential and secure (HIPAA-compliant) telehealth platform that you can access using any device (computer, smartphone, tablet) with a reliable internet connection and webcam capability.

Insurance

I am currently in-network with the following insurance companies:
Medcost | Carolina Behavioral Health Alliance (CBHA)
| Blue Cross Blue Shield and Blue Home with Novant |
Cigna/Evernorth | Aetna

**Please note we are not in-network with any Blue Value or Blue Local with Wake Forest plans**

I am currently out-of-network for all other insurance companies. If you would like to utilize out-of-network benefits for services, I can provide you with a "Superbill" that contains all the information you need to file a claim for reimbursement with your insurance company. To prevent any unwelcome surprises about your expenses for services, I recommend that you contact your insurance company to find out what coverage your plan offers for out-of-network mental health benefits. You can do this by calling the customer service line on your insurance card, and asking them the following questions:

Do I have out-of-network "mental health" or "behavioral health" benefits?

What is my out-of-network deductible, and has it been met?

Does my insurance limit the number of sessions it will help pay for each year?

What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

Do I need my doctor to provide approval for therapy so that insurance can be used?

Clients are ultimately responsible for any unpaid balances.

Payment

I accept cash, check, American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand.
Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session.

Good Faith Estimate

Starting on January 1, 2022, the No Surprises Act (NSA) protects uninsured (or self-pay) individuals from many unexpectedly high medical bills. The Act requires that healthcare providers and facilities give uninsured (or self-pay) individuals a good faith estimate (GFE) for the cost of their health care before the individual agrees to get the item or service. This Good Faith Estimate will show the costs of items and services that are reasonably expected for your healthcare needs for an item or service. The estimate is based on information known at the time the estimate was created and will be provided to you when you schedule your first appointment or upon request prior to scheduling an appointment. If the uninsured (or self-pay) individual is billed for an amount at least $400 above the estimate, the individual may be eligible to start a Patient-Provider Dispute Resolution (PPDR) process by submitting a request to HHS and paying a small administrative fee. The PPDR process is handled by a third-party company certified by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). This company will decide if the estimated amount, or billed amount, or another amount in between the estimated amount and billed amount should be paid. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate or the dispute process, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 368-1019.
